QC Coating Inspector
QC Coating Inspector with Mechanical-CBT and BGAS Grade 01/02, NACE Level 02 certification, and 6–8 years of experience. Aramco Approved and Non-Aramco candidates accepted.
Job Description
- Perform coating inspection activities in accordance with approved ITPs, project specifications, and international standards
- Inspect surface preparation methods including abrasive blasting, power tool cleaning, and chemical cleaning
- Verify surface cleanliness, profile, and environmental conditions prior to coating application
- Monitor and inspect coating application processes such as primer, intermediate, and topcoat systems
- Measure and record Dry Film Thickness (DFT), Wet Film Thickness (WFT), adhesion, and holiday testing
- Ensure coating materials are approved, properly stored, mixed, and applied as per manufacturer recommendations
- Conduct visual inspections to identify coating defects such as runs, sags, pinholes, blistering, and rusting
- Prepare and maintain daily inspection reports, coating logs, and quality documentation
- Review material data sheets (MDS), technical data sheets (TDS), and method statements
- Coordinate with construction, engineering, and QA/QC teams to resolve coating-related issues
- Raise NCRs for non-conforming work and verify corrective and preventive actions
- Participate in client, third-party, and Aramco inspections when required
- Ensure compliance with Mechanical, CBT, BGAS Grade 01/02, and NACE Level 02 standards
- Support ISO 9001 quality management system implementation and audits
- Ensure all coating activities comply with project HSE requirements
- Assist in final inspection, punch listing, and project handover activities
- Maintain calibration records for inspection instruments and gauges
- Work independently while meeting project deadlines and quality objectives
Requirements
- 6–8 years of experience as a QC Coating Inspector
- Mechanical-CBT certification (mandatory)
- BGAS Grade 01 or 02 certification (mandatory)
- NACE Coating Inspector Level 02 (mandatory)
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems
- Aramco Approved candidates preferred (salary: 75 SR)
- Non-Aramco Approved candidates accepted (salary: 45 SR)
- Strong knowledge of coating systems, surface preparation standards, and inspection techniques
- Familiarity with international standards such as SSPC, NACE, ISO, and ASTM
- Good reporting, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project schedules
